Just a Lovely Day (sarcasm: NOTED)

This morning started out...meh. As I was coming up the stairs to eat breakfast, Tinkerbelle was heading back downstairs to take a shower. She had just turned off the tv. So I get upstairs, turn on the tv, and get nothing but sound. The tv was on but there was no picture and our cable box kept flashing "dUI." I went upstairs to get Momma and tell her something was wrong with the box, and she wound up calling my uncle, who works for Comcast, to ask him what was wrong. His answer? The box was dead. Simply...dead. Which wouldn't be such a big deal (OK, so I would still be annoyed) if Tinkerbelle hadn't been watching tv not six minutes before that.

So we ate lunch upstairs in the new office, because that was the only room with a tv large enough for us to see. And we have to go out later this afternoon to get a new box. Woo...hoo...

Plus, Tink and Mickey were sick the last two weeks (Mickey stayed home from school for the last two days because of it), and now I've caught whatever they have. It came on really quick too. Pretty much right after lunch I started getting the chills and I am having the hardest time staying awake. A cough, headache, achy joints, and sore throat also come with this, just so people know.

And now, while watching the Ellen show, they've interrupted to do a memorial to the fallen soldiers. Why it's suddenly such a big deal when people have been dying in that God forsaken country for the last couple of years, and they've never once stopped a show midway through to hold a memorial for them, I will never know. Don't get me wrong, I feel for the families and I have the highest respect for the soldiers (for the most part). But where was this big deal for the other fallen soldiers all these years?

Now I'm stuck watching Hannah Montana, trying not to fall asleep, and taking crap from Momma about how I'm just being a big baby (but when Mickey gets sick it's all, "Oh, no! Poor Mickey is sick! Everyone cater to her!").

Lovely Wednesday. Just lovely.

Youtube Maitenance

OK, so for the last couple of months, there have been some complaints against youtube, and for good reason. Since the site has been bought by google, it's gone WAY overboard with things like censorship, copyright "laws", and many other things. A girl who I am good friends with online had made several AMV's using clips from the movie 9. Now, according to youtube, all you have to do to post copyrighted material is say that none of it belongs to you, that you're giving credit to the owners of the material, that the video is fanmade, and that it will be taken down upon request. This girl just started her 7th youtube account because they, without any kind or warning or supposed "requests to remove the videos," closed her first six accounts because she violated the youtube rules. Even though she FOLLOWED all of the rules given her, and made sure that anyone involved in the making of her videos did as well.

They repeatedly keep taking down videos I make because of copyright problems with my videos. No "requests," no "warnings."

And yet, people can post entire movies online with no problem whatsoever.

On top of all that, most websites post something on their main homepage when they're down for maitenence. Not youtube. Oh, no, their front page is perfectly up and running, but if you try to watch any videos, you get a bar on the top saying they are "down for maitenence." Along with that, it takes for-fricken-ever to even get to that page telling you that the site is down. Just under three minutes for me. Which, of course, causes me to get mad at my computer and throw a little hissy fit that involves cussing out everyone and everything in sight.

Youtube, you need to get your shit together, and run the site how it used to be run. Your "changes" are crap. Thank you, and have a nice day!
